Looks like BNSF now has new Genset engines, numbered in the 1200s and painted in the New Image. BNSF's Gensets appear to have a normal EMD GP-style cab and not the high visibility cab as seen on MK/GP15/20D series of Cat powered swichers. This engine looks like it was built new from the frame up. http://www.locophotos.com/PhotoDetails.php?PhotoID=52940

They're not built by MK or Railpower, but NRE. UP also has some: http://railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=171039

Where was this shot? I agree with Charlie, that's one funky looking unit.

I assume the operators like it because it looks like it has great visibility from the cab!
