Thought it might be best to start a new thread to post views and info on the C&O 2-8-4s. Here are some thumbnails to show the two main types (click on thumbnail for larger view):
C&O #2694, which originally was Pere Marquette #1210, an N Class Berkshire (image is courtesy of the Chesapeake and Ohio Historical Society)

Notice in these views that PM #1222 has the sand dome approx. in the middle of the boiler behind the steam dome; the others have the sand dome forward of the steam dome
