Hi all
I'm posting this here because I know that everybody doesn't have "The Cattle Car". This is a Windows updater for the time change coming up. Its at...

You will probably need to use Internet Explorer to download it.

I'm sure many things will be broke Sunday and guess what, they might decided to not to this again next year so don't go out and spend $$$ on anything that supports this new DST to quickly as it might be worthless in the next year too.

The time change is a federal law in the US. States in the US are not required to follow it, but if they do, they must adhere to the federal statute. Here are some details. (http://www.infoplease.com/spot/daylight1.html)
Future dates for the change in the US are listed through the year 2011.

I've had a warning thru work. Check carefully what edition of Outlook you may have. Appointments can be an hour off for the next 2 weeks! You may want to print your schedule so nothing changes!
You may need 1 patch for your O/s & another for your calendar to get everything to work.

...and it made me nuts working in Kanab, UT and eating at a restaurant in AZ -- for a week. I NEVER knew what time it was.
FWIW aren't we going to have to go through this nonsense AGAIN in three weeks when MANY items programmed for the OLD time system try to "update" again. Then twice in the fall - and 4 times each year in the future. Boy is the government helpful.

Just a friendly statement, normally these kind of topics (non-Railroad) are kept in the Cattle Car so if this gets political, etc. we will have to either move it into the Cattle Car or remove the topic.
With that said, I highlighted this topic within this forum yesterday since this is something that will effect people all around the world so lets make sure this is more of an informative topic that can benefit the membership within this forum.

If your clocks are off by an hour today that is because this would have been the day we would have set our clocks forward by an hour. I know I had several things I had to fix today.
Don't forget in October this is going to happen again because the new law also delayed the other end by a week so you will have some electronic devices that will adjust to early then too. The same ones that messed up today and will continue to mess an as long as this new law is in place.

Its best to turn off the auto DST setting on VCRs etc, so the time won't change.

Amen Brother!
Time doesn't change, why change time? The day lasts from sun up to sun down, doesn't really matter what time that happens. Besides, never met livestock that could tell time.:shade:
