I'm looking for some good titles of books that are faily comprehensive as far as modern diesel indentification. Any help???

Kalmbach published two books many years ago, Diesel Spotter's Guide I, and II. They are no longer listed on the Kalmbach Products website, but you might find them at trade shows or on e-Bay. You might also call Kalmbach Customer Service at 800-533-6644, M-F, 8:30-5:00 Central time. They may just have some left on the shelf....worth a shot.

"A Field Guide To Trains" by Gerald Foster, is a pretty good spotters guide.

I have that "Field Guide to Trains". It's very helpful.
Although I find sometimes rather than counting slots on battery boxes, it's easier to look for the fine print on the cab...
