Last Friday I took part in an operating session on The N scale Mud bay and Southern railroad. I met some really nice folks and operated with a new friend I had heard a lot about but had never met. Turns out he is a Milwaukee Road fan also. We spent the night talking about the days I worked on the Milwaukee Road at Bensenville yard. It was a great time talking about how that yard operated. It brought back lots of good memories. The operation on The M B and S went off without any major hitches. The GN 513 pulling the Amtrak 14 had some mechanical problems that backed up the freight a bit, but in the end it all turned out good. It was a great time for all. I will try to get some photos to post.

Hi Rob-

Who all was there? Am looking forward to those photos!

My screen saver has long been a photo I took of Jim's NTRAK module, with the MRNS gang at a UNW show/swap.

Hi Ken
There were several of the north end folks. Kirk Reddie is who I operated with. John Benny and Mark(I'm not sure of his last name). Several of the guys who operate on Jim's layout all the time from the Oly area and Kent from the Sacramento area. I had never met Kirk. He's a pretty funny guy. We had a blast talking Milwaukee Road. Everyone had fun. Jim had lots of pizza and snacks!:teeth: I have to find out if Jim has a web sight so you can see his layout. It's a definite work of art.I have to get some photos from the guys who had cameras there.

Right now, I can't think of a last name for Mark. :embarassed: But know who you mean. How about Scott G? Roy C? Roy, Kirk, John and I, were in the PSNS NTRAK Group years ago. We had great times. I've known them all for well over 25 years. A lot of talent was in that room! Sure miss those guys.

You bet about the talent. Roy was not there. I want to go too one of his op sessions one of these months. I operated there once. He also has a great layout, but I'm sure it has changed since I was there.
Talk to ya later
Rob
Oh by the way Kirk did mention he knows you and said you are a great guy!

I do hope you'll take a camera to Roy's! Haven't seen his layout in a while.

Yup. Kirk is quite a guy! Any day you can spend with him, will definitely be a pleasant memory. FUN! If he ever stops and knocks on your door, says let's go ____, grab your camera, and GO!

Most definitely!! Kirk said he was going to post on Milwaukee N list....I'm not sure which list he ment, any ideas? He wants to build a model of the Bensenville yard and I would love to help on that one. All around great guy. I will bring a camera to Roys when I go.
