SP 745 back in steam

The LASTA's ex-Southern Pacific 2-8-2 number 745 was back in steam, running on the KCS between New Orleans and Baton Rouge.

Bob, they sure are keeping quiet about what happened to the engine. Last I heard they melted some fuse plugs, which is the last stage before a boiler explosion. Guess it couldn't have been that bad if she's back on the road again. Hopefully the crew is more attentive. :teeth:

Sometimes a fuse plug will just let go from age or defect. I've seen it happen. So, hope that's what occured. Otherwise, if the crown sheet is deformed, they now have a static display. :sad:
