OK I will be the first to ask a dumb question. Loads? any thing loaded on the rail or open flat bed loads? I don't want to have egg on my face again because I didn't read to rules.

Man. so far I have struck out. I have seen trains full of empty coal gons, empty gravel gons, tank cars and covered hoppers. No open loads unless you want to count the bulk head flat car I saw full of post holes for power poles.

Ok, I'll get this one going.
Didn't think I was going to get anything today till I ran into this Willamette & Pacific Log train leaving Salem, Oregon and heading south to Albany. Would have been a solid log train except for the 6 empty Centerbeam flats on the end!

SOuth end of Minto siding, River Road S. on the other side of the tracks......I shot the same train a mile or so south of you. A similar 664 train yesterday had a long cut of logs bracketed by empty centerbeam flats on eother side. Had two ex-StL&A GP40s on the point

Next weekend I'm heading to KC via Amtrak to visit family. I'm heading out railfanning Mon. on the Merceline sub. Hopefullly I can get myself some entries for next weeks challenge.

http://www.trainboard.com/railimages/data/1304/100_1743_edited.jpg
Load of logs heading south on the PNWR's Oregon Electric line to Albany. From there, this batch may go to a sawmill.
Notice the flatcar- it's been converted to haul log loads. There were some "skeleton"-type flats on this train as well. Interestingly, empty centerbeam flats were on either side of this string of log loads- gotta love a product you can ship more than once.... :D

That gon full of wire was interesting- I see those thru Sherman now & then being dropped off at Sherman Wire (car is delivered to DGNO, who serves the afore-mentioned customer). I wouldn't be at all surprised to see that car in Sherman yard this week.
Russ- Are you sure that wasn't a load of boats for the Swiss Navy?

THarms77,
Be careful the contest has been every other week till now and the entries are time sensitive to the "72hours". I learned the hard way by entering some thing from my album and I had my little hand slapped for not READING the rules:cry: . Each week it is a new and different challenge just to keep us out there finding trains for the challenge. Don't stop rail fanning just because of poor timing there is always room here some where for rail fan trips. Thanks for the comment on my photo. Check my album for the photos that didn't fit in the challenge.

Looks like they might be D8s to me. I think they're a little big to be 6's, but I'm not 100% sure. Unfortunately the posted picture doesn't have enough resolution to see the number.
Coming from someone who has a pair of D2s in his back yard.
Some of my dad's tractors. (http://www.ncweb.com/users/kosh/trax.html) Note: This page was last updated a long time ago, as you can tell I was a lot younger then. We have also gotten a few more tractors since then, such as a Farmall A (http://www.nesys.org/photos/Tractors/MY_A/My_A.html) and most recently a Ford Jubilee.
