Athearn dropping prices on Genesis Fs

I was down in Dallas yesterday at Discount Model Trains, and overheard a discussion between the hobby shop clerk and someone else on the phone about Athearn dropping prices. I asked him when he finished speaking, and he confirmed that Atheran is dropping prices on its Genesis F-units by about 25 dollars a model. With so many F-unit models on the market (Genesis, Intermountain, Bowser et al), there's a crowding problem, and Athearn has a bunch of Fs on its hands.

If this is indeed true, it's good news for F-unit fans, at least in HO.

I just purchased the Athearn Genesis CB&Q A/B set for $151.00. The price was down from $219.00,

Oh! So they drop prices after purchase them! Great!

Well, except for my first set (ABB for $265) I got my two AB sets for about $160 each so that wasn't bad.

Now that they have the new "moderinized" F sets coming, they will maybe cost similar if they have to raise the prices for the extra detailing etc and cost what they were originally!

Thats great news! I could use a half dozen sets in B&O or undecorated.
