Did CN buy BCR outright? Or was it actually a long term lease?

Long-term lease... but that's just semantics... same way the NS leased the Wabash

N&W.

Yes. I know. But there have been a few examples over the years, where a company does re-emerge. Such as the Housatonic RR. Or the Providence & Worcester. Those were both 999 year leases, which went into the NYNH&H.

So it is possible, that some day, BCR might come back. Some day...... Perhaps......

Nope... I meant NS ;).

The Housatonic was a new company chartered using an old name, not an assumption of an existing lease.

The P&W was a 99 year lease... and is a case of the existing company breaking a lease (due to the PC takeover of NH)

Not sure where NS fits in. Unless there was a newer lease drawn up. I was referencing the original N&W takeover in 1964.

Yes, It's not the original "Housatonic" company. My point was that some of the original Housatonic track had re-emerged, and was once again an operating entity. And, yes. I know they've much more than that today.

Excuse my typo.... An extra 9 got in there. My point was simply that P&W had re-emerged.

Having been involved with some things I cannot discuss, am aware of some background of BCR situation, which the general public does not know.
