Am not a member, but recall a GNHS magazine article. It was a few years ago. A friend gave me that issue. I've long since passed it along.... Nothing else comes into mind right now.

Such a scenic area.. Prolly none too accessible before I-15 came thru there. Plenty of tunnels (did I hear TUNNELS?!? :D), cuts, bridges, curvature out the wazoo. Just my kind of line! It is presently out of service, washed out somewhere south of Cascade, MT.

I do also recall seeing pictures on the web, of the line at present. Taken the past few years. Not sure how you'd search for them. But a few railfans have explored there.

Anyone know where the ROW on the GF-Helena portion is washed out? I am tempted to hike it, but that's a big hike. Even from Cascade to Craig. That's still like 20 miles. Would be good exercise!

Hey Hemi, just lookin thru my Warren Wing books and in the 3rd one there are about 10 or so various pic's, both steam and diesel shown in it!
