Hi to all.
I'm hoping to find a few BC Rail railroad modelers anywhere.
I build in "HO" scale but have not as yet started any BC Rail projects.
Previously modeling Iowa Interstate railroad but I find more
interest in Canadian Railways these days.
I realise that BC Rail is also now a Fallen Flag, being part of the Giant
CN railway but i think BC Rail was always more of a Regional size railway.

Any replies will be most apprecated.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Pete,

I have to admit to having a more-than-passing interest in BC Rail, particularly after visiting Nth Vancouver some years back. But too many 'other' projects and roads prevents me from actively modelling it in N.
It was a great carrier with some of the most beautiful scenery and difficult terrain to traverse.

The IAIS has a rather avid following. An ex-N scaler has been modelling it in a big way in HO in the states. Joe Atkinson is his name. You may have heard of him.

p.s. Fixed your signature file

If I were to model any Canadian company, it would be BCR. During the two tone green, and Dogwood emblem era. ALCos of many kinds. Beautiful scenery.

There was a fellow in Washington state, who had been modeling the BCR. Not certain if he still does. His name is Brian Elchlepp. Believe I may have seen some photos on the 'Net somewhere. maybe a search?

I have some knowledge of BC Rail and my son - who used to call himself BCRailKing here - knows a great deal about BC Rail. If you have questions, I can get them answered for you. You won't be the first Aussie I have helped with BC Rail.

Marty-

Do you have any power to go with that PGE caboose? Maybe an RS3?

Sort of a closet BCR modeller here, I have a 2 tone green SD40-2 which is awaiting details, and an RS3 slug under construction, although with a low priority, plus a few cars.

Peter, there are many Groups on Yahoo relevant to BC Rail. Start with CanModelTrains, ask there, and they will steer you on to the BCR community.

Cheers, mate

Tim Horton-

Are you by chance reading? In another BCR thread, a couple of us noted your NSR N/D, 2000 article on BCR & PGE. I am curious to know if you've any breakdown of car orders from Pacific Car & Foundry, for either PGE, or BCR? And, if you've ever done any of the PC&F BCIT cars which were built c.early 1975?
