Greg-

I've stopped by and looked at this several times. Am not even close to having any WP expertise. So am trying to pick out anything that will hint at where/when.

The building is a metal structure. So I'd think more modern. But then I can barely make out someone in the distance. The clothing and hat make me think that unless this is a "staged" view in recent years, this was taken 1950's-1960's.

But I'm afraid that is as close as I am going to get... redface.gif

Am I even in the neighborhood?

:D

Am I even in the neighborhood?Nope. That photo was taken at the Portola Railroad Museum. Compare it to this photo (http://www.oz.net/~samh/frrs/roster/locos/wp921d_l.html) taken in 1993. As for the date, I'm not sure. Mid- to late 90's?

PS- Ok, I cheated and just found the real date for the photo. Greg that is so cool!

The date of the picture will surprise you. I took it last weekend, on the 21st of July. The person in the background is one of the train crew and dressed for the job. I was experimenting with B&W to make a timeless picture.

Greg-

So I wasn't that far off after all.

B&W is a good medium. Guess that I am spoiled. I like to see pictures in color, as I'm blessed with good vision.

Part of the reason that I could not agree with the '50's - 60's was the fact there's a haz-mat sign on the side of the shed between the shop and loco. These were not implemented until the mid-70's. :D

Was this photo taken with a digital or standard camera??

The picture was taken with a Hewlett Packard digital camera in B&W mode. It has been pretty good over all. Bill, good eye catching the hazmat sign.
