graemlins/wow.gif It's already been quite a while since the "Kodachrome" paint scheme came and went! I hadn't thought about it in a long time. Did some SP units in those colors last until the UP assimilation?

Oh, yeah. This shot was taken in Feb. 1996, right before the merger. I doubt SP was doing much repainting in the last few months.

Here is a photo taken in October 1999 of SP7357, which survived into 2000 before being retired. It has been reported that the unit was eventually sold to the Trona Ry and still resides in the California desert. http://trainweb.org/KernJunction/kodachrome/10099901.jpg

Not positive but I think your above engine is in Trona colors in Vegas as 3001
