This unit, SSW 7647 is still running around the Central Valley unpatched. It was headed for Roseville out of the old WP yard in Stockton today.

An unpatched diesel.....getting rarer and rarer these days. I actually remember when this class was brand new.

Yeah, so do I.

I wonder how many miles those old girls have on them now.

How extensive were SSW locos seen in California before the Borg took over?

About the only type of Cotton Belt engine not seen in Northern California was the SW1500. I imagine they did make to Roseville though, since anything SP had ended up there at one time or another. Cotton Belt engines ran anywhere and everywhere for the SP.
