As a fan of the railroad depot, I have acquired a few of these for my collection. Many years ago, I was in contact with the Agent at Trion, Georgia. He kindly gave me this train order. It was the very last one ever copied at that office, as it was then closed.

I'm always sad to note these happenings, as when this occured, the railroad was trying to cut costs. But also, the RR missed the fact that they were severing ties to the community. Something that continues to haunt them to this day.

A very historic piece of paper!
It's always sad when rail service ends on a once vibrant and active rail line. Seems like that's been the norm over the past couple of decades or so.
Many thanks Ken for posting this TO......it brought back many fond RR memories from 1968.......like the NYNH&H etc etc.
