Here's one of the more unusual GP30's rostered by the Southern.... anyone know why?

I think it had something to do with it being wrecked and sent back to EMD for repair. EMD had stopped producing the GP30 when this happened, so they rebuilt it with GP35 body parts. Just a SWAG thro.

Two things: 1st Welcome aboard! 2nd, you nailed it... mechanically it is a GP30, however, cosmetically it is a GP35 for the very reason you stated.....
I think Southern had 2 of them, but I am not sure if I have pics of the other unit.
