We all know about Frisco's Dixon Hill. But before that line was built by the South Pacific RR, the Southwest Pacific had 13-miles graded including 2 partially cut tunnels from Arlington to the St.Roberts, MO. area bypassing Dixon Hill according the the book SL&SF RY, The 35th Parrallel Project by H.Craig Miner. One of the tunnels stated to be around the entrance of Ft.Leonard Wood off the I-44 Spur. Anybody got any info on the two tunnels? Is the goverment railroad built on the original Southwest Pacific right-of-way? Thanks! Roger
