How many of the Baldwin Centipedes did the Pennsy own? And what road numbers did they have?
I have seen so many pictures of these units, but never any good statistics about them. Is there any books out there that are recommendable? And do any survive today?
Thanks
Nick

PRR had 12 pairs(24 units) of BP60a's.(BH50)
Nos. 5811-5834 BP60t had 6000 HP and then
downgraded to 5000 HP for freight service.
Used mainly as helpers out of Altoona, PA.
All retired by 1962.
Good source of information are the Pennsy
Power II and III books. Any good Pennsy book would cover them.
I would love to have a N-scale model of one.

Withers Publishing offers a series of books on PRR locos. There is a volume dedicated to Baldwin Sharks and Centipedes. They are inexpensive books and are available from Merchandise Service (merchandise.pennsyrr.com).
