Tell-Tales

I wish to install tell-tales in advance of the tunnel entrances on my N scale model railroad however have been unable to find a photograph or diagram of how PRR installed tell-tales. I gather the warning device was suspended from wires rather than a bracket from photos taken after roof running boards were outlawed. But a single wire would not suffice as temperature changes would change the height of the device above the rail. Only the poles remain in the photos.

Can anyone furnish me with a photo or a diagram showing a PRR tell-tale installation? i live in a small town on the Florida panhandle so have no access to any railroad libraries.
