Happiness is being on Trainboard.com and hearing the nightly train whistling for the crossing here in Covington, Wa. and heading up the pass over the old NP up to Snoqalmie Pass!! graemlins/wink.gif

Kurt-
Hope you meant to say Stampede Pass? :D
I recall times of railfanning. Sitting just east of you, up at Henrys. Where the Pacific Coast RR bridge, and Hwy 169 cross the line. Listening to a freight slogging it's way up hill. You could hear it a long time before they arrived.

Happiness is coming to work, putting on my headphones, and listening to the Twin Cities railroad scanner all day via the internet. Yesterday I heard some interesting conversations. One of them involved trying to cut the train because they were blocking a busy interesection, however, the conductor couldn't get the angle cock to budge so the conductor was looking for things on the ground to hammer the angle cock with, such as a large rock, a log, etc. Careful, don't want to break that angle cock or you've got more problems. smile.gif

happiness for me is coming to work and seeing 4-9 trains heading down the track 1/2 mile over from the office and going down to the yard downtown to eat lunch.
