Acquired this slide over 22yrs ago...through a trade...I didn't want it to continue to languish in my little ol' shoe box...so I thought I'd share with fellow Katy fans...note on slide indicates it was taken in Oklahoma City, OK...Oct 1978

FYI, motive power for the Katy in & out of OKC in the late 1970s was whatever F-units they had left. Since their original line was abandoned from OKC northeast to Cherryvale, KS, they accessed Oklahoma's capitol city on trackage rights on the Rock Island from McAlester westbound. Railfan & Railroad had an article on these units and the train they were used on back then.........
Incidentally, that's a goooood shot!

Here is the only MKT f-unit slide that I have. Taken in Tulsa, OK 10/1/1974.
