A post on another Trainboard Forum led to to visit the SLHTS web site. It had been a while. And there I did note mention of an F unit article.
Wasn't there an F unit painted up SOO, and running in excursion service during the past several years? Who had/has it? MTM? What was the heritage? Actually an original SOO?

I have not seen an F unit, but there is a GP-7 in the old maroon and cream paint job.

It took a little memory searching. And then I recalled a possibility:
Lake Superior Railroad Museum (http://www.lsrm.org/)
Found it pictured under Museum Exhibits/Diesel... Sure looks great!

Bob, it's an FP-7 in maroon/gold and is in Duluth at the MTM. During the tourist season it runs up to Two Harbours and back. I was on the train being hauled behind it during the SLH&TS convention in Duluth in 2000.
She looks superb and I can vouch the horn is VERY loud! :D
