Well I guess what goes around comes around...
I wonder if the old MILW units still in the old bandit paint will get a new black boxes and CPR under the cab?

The CPR Roster and Photo Archive has photos of 6618-6623 in their new Soo Bandit Scheme  - at least the Canadians were polite enough to give 6603 and 6607 full CPR paint jobs. Even the Candy Apple Red of 6619 and 6623 was not safe!

CPR Photo Archive - CP 6603 - 6623 (http://www.trainweb.org/galt-stn/cproster/locomotive/6600s/6600b.htm)

I have been in denial of CPR Soo deal for years - seeing these photos is what made it finally sink in - hockey stick Soo Line is not long to this world. In my modeling I shall from this point forward not consider an HO Scale world beyond 1999. Don't get me wrong - I like CPR and even have a CP repaint of a Soo gondola - I just could not bring myself to model one of these new bandit schemes :(

I shall also remain be in denial of the loss of ATSF and the loss of CNW :P

Question to the older members: Is this what it felt like when steam was replaced?

NNOOOOOOOO...

That's why the modelling world stopped on Jan 1 '96 - Soo became CP and BN added that other outfit.
The world is not the same anymore. :(

Looks like the 3 CP SD40-3M's (SD45 bodies) I have are to become an ex-BN bandit and WC units. Payback time!

Gary.

At least those units look half way decent. You should see the ex-Soo units that were part of the IMRL deal. They have blue patches with I&M Rail Link painted under the cab windows. Hideous!

Well, like Gats, my SOO modelling stopped in the early 90's. I model the SOO from 1989 to 1993. It helps focus my work as the modelling period is so specific.
CP? CP...Who? They dont exist in my world..LOL ;)
