Does anyone have a date for formation of the current IC Corp? (RR operations from the old Illinois Central RR.)

Also, a date for when they "re-acquired" the CC&P?

Best I can find about the CC&P from the net is a very rough '1985 sell off, 1996 re-aquisition' which seems to be listed on a couple of sites, including the ICHS...

The Brittanica link answers one question. That 1962 date, is for ICRR being made subsidiary to ICI (Illinois Central Industries.) And then is shown ICRR being privatized 1989. That will be the date for IC Corp that I was seeking!

ICG sold the Iowa division in 1985 which became the CC&P. IC bought it back in 1996.

It was changed from ICG to IC in 1988 and the 'Death Star' paint scheme emerged.
