Commuter operations on Iowa line

Did the IC ever operate any commuter trains on its Iowa line in the Chicago area? It goes through some fairly well populated Chicago suburbs, so I am curious if it ever warranted any commuter trains.

I am sorry to have taken so long to reply to this, I don't even know if you are still a member....but here is your answer

No, it did not have any commuter service on the line, and the reason for this was it was in such close proximity to the Chicago and North Western "West" Line to Geneva..the commuters patronized this line heavily, and also the Burlington Northern line Western Springs, La Grange, Brookfield, Riverside and other stations closer to the city....hope this helps smile.gif
