Hiya!
More units have now been painted into CNR colours, with I.C.R.R. Sub lettering.
They are SD40-2 6147 and SD40-2 6264
Have a good day,

Where are these units operating out of? Are they in Central Illinois anywhere? I hope to see them and welcome to Illinois, CN! I hope the BNSF/CN-IC merger goes through, but I think it won't. http://www.trainboard.com/frown.gif
Take care!

Hey Dave,
I have a sub-section of my Illinois Central section on my website with IC and GTW lettered CN painted units. I have only caught two of the IC SD40-3's on film but the pics are pretty good. Redeker's Railroad Photos (http://www.geocities.com/marktomer/) Go to the IC section and you will see the link for the CN painted units. Enjoy!

Hey all, I have a question for ya, Why would you want the BNSF/IC/CN merger to go through? 3 railroads for the entire contentent. Not good. Your one of very few I have run across saying yea to the merger, I' just curious as to why you say that. Although IC BNSF would have been nice with out the CN in there. smile.gif

I must say I was definatly not for the merger. It appears as if the CNIC/WC merger is going to go through though. That is a much better combination on end to end connections. I am looking forward to seeing more WC engines down here on the IC in Mississippi soon as a result of the take over of WC. I must get up to the WC to take pictures sometime this summer before the deal goes through however. I still don't have any Wisconsin Central pics on home rails. Later,

I'm a conductor for the TRRA in St. Louis, MO and I just happened to see about 4 re-paints with the ICRR outside of Willows interlock in East. St. Louis on their way to Springfield, IL. And on a more personal note, I would like to see the BNSF/CNIC merger happen but that would never happen.

I definatly hope the WC engine stay in the Maroon & Gold (or is it Cream?). I'd really hate to see the CN Orange/Black/White up here, it'd be all i'd have to look at.

Sadly, the IC is slowly disappearing as CN starts painting the IC motive power.
