I'd not heard this! How very sad. I used to swap e-mails with Keith. They were always quite pleasant. Informative. A very nice fellow.

Keith Williams is Editor of The Prospector, the official publication of the Society. He has been interested in trains since his childhood. Over the years he followed a variety of railroads including the Wabash, Burlington, Kaw Valley and Western, and Santa Fe. In the 1970's his interest was drawn to the diminutive teakettles that labored in the San Juan Mountains of southwestern Colorado, particularly the Silverton Railway and the Silverton Northern.
His interest in Otto Mears' railroad operations in, and around, Silverton, Colorado, gradually expanded to Denver and Rio Grande Railroad and in 1995 Keith started the "un" Official Internet Home of the Denver & Rio Grande Western web site. With the generous help of many individuals the web site grew and grew until it provided visitors with a broad range of information about the Rio Grande. That web site is now part of the even larger drgw.org web site.
Keith started the YahooGroups DRGW mailing list in May, 1998. The list has grown to well over 600 members and is the home to a broad range of discussions on a variety of Rio Grande-related topics.
Keith lives in Kansas City, Kansas and owns Information Systems Services, a computer consulting company. In his spare time he is designing an N-scale layout based on Pueblo in the late 1960's. He is a member of the Santa Fe Railway Historical & Modeling Society.
