Hi All,
I just completed the pages on my December road trip to Helper, UT. Lots of pictures for everyone. Includes UTAH RY MK5000C's, UP, SP, BNSF and of course D&RGW. Caution! Slow loading. Just go to Utah Rails, click on my Road Trips then December 2000.
Enjoy,

Jim,
You guys are truly die hard Grande fans to brave the elements so that we can still enjoy what's left of the Grande. Keep it up.
Hopefully I can get out to Utah this spring or summer and HOPEFULLY there'll still be some tunnel motors left.

What stunning Pictures!
Jim, with those photographs and your rivetting commentary, I was living the trip with you http://www.trainboard.com/smile.gif
I am deeply envious of the area you are able to railfan, so thanks for giving us deprived souls the opportunity to sample it via the internet http://www.trainboard.com/smile.gif
Quite superb!

Alan,
I am glad you enjoyed it. Next up I am going to try to get a life long friend of mine that is an BNSF engineer, ex DRGW, SP and UP, that runs out of Grand Junction, Colorado to Salt Lake City, UT, to take some cab shots. That might make for an interesting series.

Mike,
In turn, I have to thank you for all the earlier shots on your site. At times I think back at the 1950's when I was growing up in Grand Junction and all the pictures I could have gotten of the transition era. At that time I was not interested in pictures http://www.trainboard.com/frown.gif.

Excellent Shots!! And the commentary! Wow, have you considered doing a book for publication http://www.trainboard.com/wink.gif?? I followed the route over Summit last October (en-route to a conference in Ogden). Saw some great action, but the guys I was with (including my boss) are not "into" trains so I could only get glimpses from the moving car! Happy Railroading!
