Patched T-2 headed N/E

At 5pm tonight UP patched 8582 (ex-5389) was headed north out of Vegas. I know ok now its technically a UP but atleast its still in orange and black. It was even running!!!!! Its the 3rd out of 4 units and its facing west. I just hope it keeps running from the paint booth and/or storage line.

That should put it in Salt Lake City or Ogden in the morning. We had an ex-SP, exx-DRGW SD50 on a work train a month ago in Sparks. Bad light and poles in the way kept me from shooting a digital of it. I understand it has been patched and is still running around Roseville.

The SD50 is either UP 9847, 9855, 5108 or 5111. None of these are out west. They keep them working all over the place.

The coolest thing about 8582 was it came into Arden (just south of Vegas) in the middle of a big UP seven unit front end: C60AC (7503), C44AC (6550), SD-45T (8582), SD60 (2170), and 3 SD60M's (6348, 6169, 6149). Looked like he was showing the big boys how to pull! They had around 90 cars when they dropped off 17 at Arden along with the 3 SD60M's. Also cool was meeting Duane (nice guy!) who was down the line in Vegas checking out the DD40-X (6936?) special that came through town. Nice meeting you Duane! You going to post your pics?
