Back in late 1998 or early 1999, I was able to take a time exposure of D&RGW 3110 in Stockton yard. http://cencalrails.railfan.net/drgw3110.jpg
UP hadn't started their push to get everything under one number system. Basic maintanence was all that these units saw.

DRGW 3110 is still in Northern CA, unpatched and unpainted.

Jim is in Utah, and is a SRGF (Slobbering Rio Grande Freak). Greg resides in Reno, NV, when he's not running trains for UP. His fave road is WP.
Both these guys have been all over the areas they speak of.
I recommend a visit to Jim's site, Utah Rails (http://www.trainweb.org/utahrails).
I also recommend a visit to Mountain West Rails (http://www.mtnwestrail.com) for some awesome scenery that I sadly no longer see (I'm back in north Texas now)
These sites blow my mind, and I'm sure they'll blow yours as well. PS- Jim's site has a tracking on the DRGW units not yet Borged.
