I'm trying to track the consolidation of the railroad divisions over the years starting in 1950. My main concern is in the line to Bedford, Indiana although I am also interested in learning about the lines in South Dakota and the mainline to Tacoma.
What spawned this interest is the desire to acquire timetables covering these routes. I noticed many timetables from the 1980s are available that cover the "Northern" and "Southern" divisions. I'm guessing these divisions were a result of the 1980 line abandonments which made the system small enough to designate only two divisions on the whole railroad.
My main question is what division was the Bedford, Indiana line a part of before it was in the "Southern" region that is shown in the 1980s. Also, how was the line to Tacoma divided? Finally, how were the lines around South Dakota divided over the years?
I know this is quite a bit of information to produce but there is a great crew here on Trainboard and I know you guys can help me with my inquiry! graemlins/notworthy.gif
