Here is an old photo of the early days on Lines West. This is the very first winter on Snoqualmie Pass, 1980-1909, at Laconia, Washington. I was given this view years ago by an old timer employee. It's a favorite.

Ken, does that bring back memories of upstate NY in winter. They have had a tough one back there this year. Got pix from my sister who lives about 20 miles north of Syracuse-nearby communities have had 181 inches of snow this winter, and it ain't over.

Would you believe I worked in a station that small? At a place called Black Butte. No post office, just railroad.

A Milw Standard Class Telegraph Office was 9'6" by 10'4". Claustrophobic people need not apply!

I can see why this would be a favorite of yours. It has a dramatic and loaded with action. It would be a favorite of mine, too.
