Not the greatest photo. But we can't go back again. That's NOT smoke coming out of the tunnel! :eek: It's fog from the west side of the Cascade Mountains, rolling out the eastern portal of Snoqualmie Pass at Hyak in eastern Washington. More info at my RailImages album.

Yup. It's a neat site!
Wish that I could share what I just received. A friend who worked for the Milw, just sent me some original color photos of the very first run for the XL Special, (Hotshot freight train 261), coming down the west side of the Bitterroots.
He doesn't have a scanner, so asked me to do it. But I don't have permission to share them. They aren't the greatest for being sharp. Or for color quality. But from forty years ago, they are rare and valuable.
