While building my RailImages gallery, I came across this engine that I though I would share within this forum. I believe it's #490 but please correct me if I'm wrong as it's been a few year since I took this photo and the number isn't very clear. smile.gif

What "Description" should I give this photograph within my RailImages gallery? graemlins/088.gif

Darren, that is indeed 490, one of C&O's great Hudson 4-6-4 types. I'm not sure if she was built by Baldwin or in the C&O shops. They were BIG, weighing 443,000lb. with 78 inch drivers. smile.gif
I cannot believe that in my only visit to the B&O museum, in 1995, I missed this baby. I am one of the Hudson nuts, like Ron Morse. :(

There is your basic C&O Allegheny, one of the strongest locomotives ever built. If that car is in the same position as it was when you shot the Hudson, is that Reading 2100 next to her, the original American Freedom Train loco?? graemlins/confused.gif

Scott, welcome to Trainboard! By live footage, do you mean video or movie of that beast in action? That would be something to see.

If you can get a small clip created an uploaded someplace like RailImages I'm sure allot of people here would love to see that kind of action.
