Modeling questions:
(1) Did C&O have boxcar red plug-door 50' boxcars with the Roman lettering on left and C&O for Progress herald on right? Numbers?
(2) Were any EMD F7s ever lettered for Chessie System, either C&O B&O or WM?
Numbers? Any photo available?
Thanks !

Jim,
I'm not sure of the oxide red box cars in C&O.
I do know that NONE not a one of thee F-7's got chessie paint. They were either A.) Scrapped, or B.) traded to EMD for the laterst loco's at that time period.
Although, I know their are a few models of the F-7's out their thats painted in Chessie colors, however thats only to sell the product an isn't prototypical in any way. Companies paint "odd-ball" loco's in scemes that the real railroad had that they never had the same type cocomotives to sell their product. Such as Bachmann, they made an older F-7/9 that they painted into Chessie colors, however Chessie never had any F class loco's in their colors. However When chessie took over the Western Maryland in 1972, they did take a few F-7's in Western Maryland "circus" sceme an renumbered then, but never ever repainted them into the Chessie colors....
