Darren,
You guys are the place to be in 2006. The N-Scale convention AND the BN convention. (and others I'm sure) If only they could have been on consecutive weekends I might could have done both.

It seems a little surprising to me, that FOBNR seems to be a historical group I don't hear a lot about.... Especially now that BN is gone. Am I somehow missing that many mentions of them? I've only met one person, who was a member. Don't believe he still is though.

You're right. It doesn't get a lot of mention...but I'm trying to change that. The conventions alone are worth the price of membership and if you're a BN or BNSF fan it's a no brainer. I didn't even know about it until their convention was in my back yard.

Isn't that the hotel that offers a view of BN's Denver yard?
I wish! I'll be in Great Falls, MT by then!

Hemi, yes you are correct...that is the hotel. Great Falls isn't THAT far is it? What like 10 hours?
I flew 1200 miles and drove an additional 7 hours to get to this year's convention in Superior, WI, so I don't want to hear excuses!!! tongue.gif

It's 12 hours from Cheyenne, so almost 14 hours from Denver.
Talking the wife into it would be the issue...

LC&S is a ride that's worth it. I got a cab ride when I went up there in 97.

Not only that but also the Narrow Gauge Convention. My uncle and friend will be down there from WA. Unfortunatly, I can't make anything though.
I need to make it to Colorado some time. I love the ghost RRs. If you wantr info on the Narrow Gauge I can post it, but I bet there are others here that already know about that one.

I would encourage anyone in the region, or anyone with great interest in BN/BNSF regardless, to consider attending. These are always GREAT conventions and if you have a question about BN/BNSF there's a good chance someone there can answer the question.
If any of you guys are interested, drop me a line and I'll talk you into it! :-D Seriously, I'd be glad to answer any questions about the organization or the convention.

Just a reminder that the BN convention is about two weeks out. It's still not too late to attend if you are considering it. I for one cannot wait...it's going to be an outstanding convention.
