Does anyone have an ORER handy? I was looking at a chip car today. Number 586007. It's very simply stenciled. No logo. But what had me wondering, was the paint. It almost seemed to have a blue hue to it. Could it be a vague hint of sky blue paint coming through? What is the heritage?

586007 is one of group 586000-586299 built in 1967 for NP numbered 119700-119999

We still get to see a few of those ex-NP. In both 119xxx, and 582xxx series. Amazing that any are still in original paint, over 30 years later.
Thanks!

wood isn't abrasive so paint isn't harmed as much by time.

Well, yes. But they use these cars for more than just loading chips. And the paint is intact on the outside of the car. Where no wood is loaded, etc. I was thinking more along the lines of how aggressive BN was years ago, in repainting predecessor company equipment.
