View Full Version : Your favorite cab face on BN engines?

I know the BN had a few very neat cab "faces" they tested.My personal favorite is the high visibility orange and black or white striped units.For some reason a lot of poeple think they were ugly.I don't know why that is but to see a gp50 or the sd60's with the tiger stripe nose on them just looks neat to me.I try to model as many tiger stripe faces as i can.
I also am a big fan of the white faced engines also.Once again I try to model as many of these units as I can.These units look really cool comming at you with the big BN on the nose and then the front of the cab painted white.
And then there is the white striped nose.I like these units also but not quite as much as the others.I guess this is why I like the BN so much.You can have three units in the consist but all three can have a different face on them.
Well guys I think that covers all of the many "faces" of the BN,What is your favorite?????????

I preferred the white stripes on the nose myself. I wasn't too crazy about the whiteface, and thought the tiger stripes looked awful.
Here's a nightmare scheme- a green & cream SD70MAC with tiger stripes on the nose. That oughta curdle your milk! :eek:

I've had a liking for the whiteface scheme, on about any unit. About the only exception are the 3-window cab SD60M's....the 2-window versions I like, though.

I love that Tiger stripe look. Also the Green/cream is nice. The whiteface is neat, too.
I vote for Hi-visibility Tiger Stripes! *esp when coupled in MU with a tender smile.gif*

I vote for the Tiger Stripes. It really made it stand out from the rest of the pack.

I think the ol std still is nice, but whiteface isn't bad at all...

Hers the order I like them in:
1) Plain old white stripes
2) White and Orange High visibility Tiger stripes
3) White face, not the 3 window SD60M's though, that just does not look right.

On the topic of faces, are there still tiger stripes running around out there? How about the white and orange tiger stripes? If there arnt any when was the last one repainted?
