Is my kid ok?

I had all of my Nscale trains out yesterday and my oldest son(2 years) only wanted to play with the ATSF engines.I have done the respectfull thing to them and made them all BNSF patched engines,But it is bothering me that he leaves the BN stuff alone.Does anyone have a suggestion because I couldn't get to sleep last night.Thanks

I personally think your son shows an astounding level of intelligence. You see, like most two year olds, your son was planning on staging an N-Scale "cornfield meet" and had the wherewithall to choose the expendable Santa Fe units. That's my theory... graemlins/097.gif

Clint, I think you need to do some kiddie conditioning with your son. Do not put the SF units out at all, just the BN units. Soon he will associate the joy of trains with the joy of being a BN fan. smile.gif

I agree with GATs, it is proper kid conditioning. I grew up and was only exposed to the N&W. I was 16 before I realized that not all loco's were painted black. Now I am a die-hard N&W fan, but I was exposed to BN when I lived out in Kansas for a while.

He is probably attracted to the yellow on the ATSF locomotives.and also the the silver on the others. BN had some dark colors on thier trains. that don't look so good to play with. Kids have a tendency to go toward brighter colors.

Hi Guys, A two year old taking interest in trains that's wonderful. As for the liking ATSF over BN...Santa Fe is one of the most popular railroad for kids because of the bright colors....I wouldn't take his favorite locomotives away from him, that could deter him from railroads, and this is one hobby where we need more people. Show him that BN are SF locos painted in Green and Black..before you know it he'll be playing with both. smile.gif Just my two cents.
