Hey Everyone, I'm working on something, that I need some feed back on....

As you all know I'm a navid modeler, plus own my own shop in the hobby. In this, I've came to the point where I've been modeling the B&O all my time in the hobby, however, I live on Sand Patch, in Meyersdale, PA. So that leads me to model my area, for the B&O, in this, theirs a few tunnels on this division. Making Sand Patch tunnel my favorite section. So having said this, I'm designing Sand Patch tunnel portals, both eat an west portals, in HO. BUT I want to know if any other modelers would be interest in these? I'm going to be making the Sand Patch tunnel portals in sets for HO, an if their is an interest in this, in other scales, I will then scale them down an mass produce them too! I'm not taking about the original bore, I'm talking the one still used today that was completed in 1912.

Anyone interested post here, or e-mail me on your thoughts! I'd be happy to hear what everyone has to say.....

In this all I may do other tunnels as well! Like "Shoofly" tunnel etc.... (I think thats spelt right). I'm also concidering doing Western Maryland tunnels as well, like "Big Savage" tunnel... BUT to do some of these other tunnels, I will need pics to ollow as guide lines for scaling them.

Any questions, feel free to ask! :D As for the Sand Patch tunnel, It so far is to scale as far as it gets! I actually went to Sand Patch tunnel (West portal, Meyersdale side) with 2 tape measures, one 100 foot an one 25 foot! And sat an scaled it down. Heres a few pictures, of the work, this is a "Master Copy" To make the mold from. All Tunnels made, will be done this same way!

Here's another shot of the West Sand Patch tunnel portal.....

John,
That's a great looking item.... maybe us N scale modelers could just put them in the dryer to reduce the size http://www.trainboard.com/smiles/037.gif

Harold,
Well I was asking if anyone else in "other" scales would want them! If so, let me know here or e-mail me an I will scale them down an make them.... Not a problem! If your interested, an a few others would be interested in Sand Patch tunnel portals in other scales then HO, please say, I will do the scale work to make them in whatever scale is wanted. I just have to have "orders" or wants for it. an once I get the HO scale versions done an selling (Phase one), then with the profits from that, I'll begin a phase 2, with making them in N scale or O scale, which ever comes first, an then a 3rd phase of the left scale an so on....

As for putting them in the dryer to reduce the size, I don't think thats gonna work! :D graemlins/wink.gif

Thanks for the offer John, but I am not sure that I will have a need for them even though I admire them.....
