Hey Denis!
That's great news about the Stewart FT's!
Any idea when they will be coming out? Right
around Christmas would be great! I think I'll ask Santa Claus for a set or two http://www.trainboard.com/smile.gif Any
idea when the final FT's were repainted into the standard scheme? The Calloway/Withers
book has citrus FT pictured in 1948. But there are no other FT photos until of FT's
until 1953. Could citrus painted FT's have
survived until 1949 or 1950?

Hey Rich, I don't think I said Stewart would be doing SAL FT's. I did mention that Micro-Trains would be doing. However, I have discussed the idea of SAL FT's with Stewart and they have indicated that they are going to do them, sooner or later. Also, they indicated that they would do them in the later, standard freight scheme and not the modified Citrus scheme. As far as how long FT's stayed painted in the Citrus colors, I have no idea. I can consult several of my books to see when I can find the latest shot of one still in Citrus colors.

According to Warren Calloway, a noted authority on all things railroad, they began repainting them in 1946-47. He thinks that some may have survived into the 50's.
