Anyone have any pics or info about SF Snoot #5027? Is it still an active unit on BNSF? If so, anyone know it's current road number? I'm also looking for info on BN SD40-2 (non-snoot) #6333. Any help, I'm truely thankful for!

ATSF 5027 was renumbered into the 6335-6362 series and should be 6342. An equipment trace at www.bnsf.com (http://www.bnsf.com) shows it on CSX on Dec. 5 (What good is an equipment trace if it's not current?) I haven't found any photos it in either ATSF or BNSF paint, but I'll keep an eye out for one. BN 6333 kept it's number, but it doesn't show up at all on the equipment trace, so I guess it's retired. Here (http://archive.trainpix.com/BN/EMDORIG/SD40-2/6333.HTM) is a photo in BN paint.

Well, that's a start! Thanks, DRB! That pic will help too, as long as it's just a "patched" unit. The only things missing from my 6333 is the Flag, "service cabinet tags", safety messages (stop signs) on stairs, sunshades and frame mounted bell. At least that's what I can tell from the photo. http://www.trainboard.com/smile.gif

That's really interesting, especially since 5026 (supposedly renumbered to 6341) was a snoot. Here are a couple of photos (don't know the dates, but no ditch lights so they can't be recent, especially the first one http://www.trainboard.com/wink.gif):

If you have photographic evidence that 6341 isn't a snoot, I'd love to see it. It could mean that there are two units with the same number running around. http://www.trainboard.com/biggrin.gif
