To anybody in the Colorado Springs Area.
I know that when passenger train operations over the Joint Line ended, that the City got the DRGW and ATSF to close the old Santa Fe trackage through the city between Kelker and Palmer Lake.
However I have just been looking at some satellite imagery of the "springs" from about 1999, and part of the SF line from Kelker to the old Santa Fe depot still seems in situ.
Can somebody please confirm this and is this trackage still in use. Both sets of pictures show freight cars all along the peice of trackage.
I've downloaded the SPIN track diagrams from Mike's Railblazer site, but this does not show the old ATSF track actually in the city.
Can anybody please help?
thanks
