Great shots...even if I never liked that paint scheme, it is still good to see the SF!! Thanks for the posts and feel free to keep em coming!

Yep, I remember these locomotives- I shot quite a few of 'em in Kansas City, KS, and down in Emporia. I referred to the color job as "Tycos", after the Gawdawful colors that toy company put on their junk.
Now, with BNSF ruling the roost, I actually miss this paint job. How things change.....

Thanks for the pics. Kevin, but thankfully that merger did not happen :eek:

Good old blue and yellow looked best smile.gif Plus, of course the 'superfleet' colours!

SPSF= Shouldn't Paint So Fast :D :D
The few SP locomotives painted in this scheme didn't weather too well- the paint either flaked off or the unit got so filthy you couldn't tell if it was repainted or not.
I agree with Alan- the blue & yellow is the better scheme (the "Fleet" is a close second).
