The self-proclaimed "steam only" guy has sunk to new depths. This and every other site on the net has no steam news. Short reason, no steam is running. Next best thing is first or second generation Alco Diseasels. Here's the Sierra Railway MRS-1 613 shot at Jamestown in October 1995. Does the M in MRS mean Military?

I believe the "M" does indicate Military. It could mean Military RS-1. Or Military Railway Service. Paint on that unit looks nice!

Yep Jim . . . the "M" designates military. And you are partially still in steam because MRS-1's were outfited with a steam boiler in the nose of the unit for use in extreme cold climates such as when we crossed the Bearing Strait to kick butts in Soviet Russia. :D
If you visit the YWRR, I'll show you where it was situated in our MRS-1. smile.gif
