I'm still annoyed that on my move down I was too rushed to do any railfanning in Southern Oregon and Northenr CA. I did however drive past Shasta and Black Butte on a perfectly clear full moon night which was very breathtaking to see the shillouette of the mountains. It did lead me to wnder what kind of idiot builds an Interstate expressway at the literal base of two active volcanoes. In partiuclar Black Butte should it errupt would instantly destroy I5 which runs right beneath it.

Thank you NSCALEMIKE,
These tunnels (MP 274.4) are closer to Redding (MP 258.2). Dunsmuir Yard is MP 321.4.

YoHo-
Your mention of those volcanoes is interesting. As when I read "No California," at first I wondered if that's what it meant. Earthquakes= No California! graemlins/220.gif

No kidding, I have dreams where there's an Earthquake. I used to have dreams like that in Oregon, but it was usually cause my downstairs neighbor had his dryer on at 5 in the morning.
I went and saw Mt. St. Helens last September, That Interstate is stupid.
Oh and don't go see Helens, then watch Dante's Peak then notice how you can see Mt. Hood from your complex. That's some insecurity.

At first when I saw this topic I thought maybe it was going to about that tv movie called 10.5 . In previews they did show a train.
Nice pictures.
