Ok so not to tie up sooo much bandwidth...this is my last post...and I hate to bore everyone..
Taken about 8:30am today, at the east end of Mojave yard...with a UP stack train easing its way down the mainline, eventually winding it's way towards the LA area.

I really cannot imagine being bored by shots such as that smile.gif But only two units on a stack train? What is the world coming to ;)
Last time I was there, they had at least four, and mostly more!

The high horsepower locomotives used these days...is a far cry from the time when SP would load the front end of a train with 7 or 8 units plus mid train helpers and one or two end of train helpers over the hill. They would cut them out at Summit, usually or sometimes continue down to the LA area with them (especially if they were going to Cajon pass next)

I saw a number of BNSF Stack trains with 4 or so big dash 9s on the front heading over Cajon And Tehacapi still gets lots of power.
Do the EMD's get better adhesion maybe?
This is 3 units on front and 3 2/3 back. Mixed manifest
