Yesterday Rail Images passed the 5000 image total. The site also has 208 active albums and continues to grow.

1000 images were added within the past month so we are growing at quite a fast rate.

keep up the great work guys and look forward to seeing more photographs.

That's excellent! Some neat stuff is in there to browse through!

If only I could figure out why my scanner doesn't like my old prints. So I could scan them without being so fuzzy! I'd then add a few more to my album.

Johnny make sure it is all case sensitive and your username is one word no space. I tested your username and password and it works fine :D

The login name is always something like JohnDoe (no spaces) and proper caps. Then, using the right password would also be critical.

I have not tried yours but if it is on our end we can easily fix it.

If you are making an error, you need to check details like spaces and caps.

Yesterday Rail Images passed the 7000 image total. The site also has 247 active albums and continues to grow.

I will be removing new albums that have been inactive for over 3 months as the new albums page is now full and a second page has started which may confuse new members.

I want to remind everyone that RailImages is not FREE to host... donations are appreciated (I made mine today) tongue.gif I don't think there is a website anywhere for rail photo hosting that does not use banners, popups, or prohibit remote linking that you can use for FREE! Anyway, just my 2 cents,,,,

And we thank you all for the donations. As the site gets more popular so do the bill collectors. graemlins/220.gif graemlins/Boo.gif

I have been doing some house keeping in my album. I added two sub albums, deleted a few photos and kind of organized the rest. I was aware that moving images into a sub album would change their URL but was shocked that a few people must have saved the old links cause I have been getting emails asking where they went.

Congradulations to everyone for the incredible milestone!!!
Hope to upload a few more photos sometime soon.
And once I land a new job, I fully intend on sending in another donation, to help with the incredible cost of maintaining the Rail Images site.

For those of us who have been around N scale for a good length of time, (this is my 33rd year), or participated in NTRAK, (as I have), we know your work. And enjoy following it.

I know what you mean. I've have been slowly going back into old post to Edit the URL to where I moved some of my RailImages as well. Being an IT person I can tell you that people overuse Bookmarks so you would be surprised how many people will have bad URL's within the browsers that pointed to dynamic content rather than the main page.

what's a fair donation to be made? what's the average donation? I'd like to contribute

also, just wondering if there's a way to email album owners...there's a few questions re scenicing and such that I'd like to ask for their techniques and maybe an additional close-up pic

Mike,
ANY contribution helps. If what you can afford to spare is 5 bucks, so be it. All contributions, small and large, are appreciated and put to good use.
Thanks!!

Might wish to confirm this with either Ironhorseman, Mike Bobbitt, or the Colonel but I believe today those who donate $20 or more also have the ability to create their own sub-albums.

Nice feature, see my RailImages as an example.

Oh BTW, Charlie & Paul,
I like the 'subalbum' lists on the main album list page, listing how many subalbums, links to them, and how many total hits each album. Very nice!!!

Yes I've been watching number of pics head towards 20,000 and missed it lol.

Yes Charlie uploaded the new version software last week and the listing of subalbums is a good feature.

Look forward to seeing our next 20,000 images.
