View Full Version : Personal Album Has Limited Capacity

I was uploading 13 photos to my album for a later post and discovered a possible "glitch".

I uploaded the 13 photos in groups of four due to the constraints of the upload process. The first 3 groups of 4 photos each uploaded without a problem. The 13th photo (fourth group) was uploaded and I received the upload successful confirmation screen. However, when I checked my album, this last photo did not display. I tried to upload the 13th photo a second time with the same results. I then deleted a previous un-linked test photo from the album, and the 13th photo uploaded without a hitch.

Is it possible to notify the user that their album is reaching its capacity limit before, or while uploading a photo? Getting a successful upload screen when in fact the upload has failed could be a problem.

Hank,
I am not sure if this is the answer to your question but file size is limited. I tried uploading a bigger picture than was allowed and got the same confirmation but no photo in the album.
I would try to upload another pic or resize your "#13" and see what happens.
(It can be the #13 in itself-LOL)

Hope this helps!

Russ, sure glad you got rid of that P....., Pen''''''''''Can't say it, avatar, that keystone shaped one that reeked of the New York Central's competition! :(
Hank, I think there was a caveat in the initial startup that said there would be a limit to how much space we can take up in the image files. I know I'm probably pushing it already, but them I'm a photo freak. :D

There is no limit on the amount of files only the 100K limit on the size of files.

Hank if you have any more problems let me know

Paul, each image file in my album is between 15KB and 25KB. I have 18 images,so assuming an average of 20KB each, this would require about 360KB for the album.

I'll run a test later with another image file to see if I get the same results. I'll let you know. As Russ said, it may be just a coincidence that the "13th" photo in the sequence would not upload, but then who knows ..... ? graemlins/headscratch.gif :D

Fitz-
Do you mean my LIRR avatar? That is the one that the LIRR used when they were "assimilated" by the Borg- PRR (LOL) :D

The only thing good about the PRR owned LIRR were the G5's that graced the Island. You just can't beat Belpaire boilered steam. (Ok, J3a's in NYC badging WERE better, but you didn't get them down here in Queens!) ;)

Anyway, we have to thank Jim for all these great avatars. It is truly one of the most cool things that I have seen on any board. When I didn't see one for my home road (NY&A) I emailed him and he came up with it overnight!!
Way to go!!!

Happy Railroading!

That would be the one, Russ. Yes, we owe Jim a bunch for these cool avatars. Too bad we can't go back in time. I might even enjoy seeing something with a belpair firebox, though I doubt it. The Water Level Route.....you can sleep..... :D

I just successfully uploaded a 27KB image file to my album, which became the 19th image in the album. (I deleted it since it didn't relate to trains.) I have no clue why the 13th photo did not upload last Saturday .... ? graemlins/headscratch.gif

Whatever .... smile.gif
