Paul, or Mike, this one is a mystery (to me, but then I'm not too bright). I uploaded a photo and was disappointed in it (scanner problem, which I later solved). I then uploaded the same photo. Surprisingly, they both appeared in the album, with identical file names. I deleted the original one. Went to Trainboard and the dreaded 'X" was there where the photo once was. I edited the message and pasted the title for the new photo (absolutely identical to the title of the original) and now it displays.
Any other photo files I have ever dealt with will usually question you when you try to post a file with the same name as an existing one. The real mystery to me was that the identical filename would not display after I deleted the original. Evidently there is some other subtle identification on those invividual files that I fail to understand. graemlins/confused.gif

Hey Jim. Welcome to the wonderful world of 'puters. They are just like women at times :D . I have two programs that do the same thing. One is my FTP software and the other is a graphics program.

I have altered the software so it does no enable the uploading of duplicate files. I am unable to test this change from my present location so if somebody could test it for me.

Thanks

Paul. I think I have the oposite problem. This afternoon I uploaded 4 photos and received acknowledgment on all of them. I went back to my photo album and they were not there. I went back to upload and tried to upload one of them. received a reply that "can not duplicate url". I went back to the photo album to check and still no new photos. Went to upload and tried again with the same results. Where did the photos go that they said I could no duplicate?

Paul, You did good! :D I rescanned my file titled "PA1" and saved it. Tried to upload it into railimages and got this message:

"Error uploading photo: Photo PA1.jpg exists, will not overwrite!"

Dick, I looked at your album and found no uploads for today. Looked under "recent uploads" and found SIX indentical files, all with the same picture, same name, that you uploaded today. ?

That's where I was going to suggest that you look for your uploads too Dick .. after you upload check the "recent uploads" button. smile.gif

Now I know this railimage is messed up. I just tried to upload several photos, one at a time, all with different url things and kept getting the same response 2 layout already exist can not duplicate. I did not try anything with 2 in it except for the date. I tried 7 layout, and 9 layout with their respective dates and kept getting the same response

Dick are you sure the pics are uploading? Are you getting a message that the files were succesfully uploaded? If not you should also look at the bottom of the page and look for error messages.

You might also try renaming the files to eliminate spaces in the file names. I'm not sure if that is the problem or not.
